Queen and Freddie Mercury – History
My family tree has been traced back to the kings of England in the early 7th. Century AD. This gives me an interest in English history, which is very fun to research. As I am a direct descendant of Sir Christopher Wren and many ancestors London who were members of the livery of various companies. I decided to create this article on the group's most pop in the world – "Queen" that is one of the icons of Britain.
We can say that Britain and the world's largest pop group.
Queen started his life as a glam rock in 1972. Brian May (born July 19, 1947, Twickenham, Middlesex, England, guitar) and Roger Taylor (born Roger Meddows-Taylor, July 26, 1949, Kings Lynn, Norfolk, England, drums) played in a college band called Smile with bassist Tim Staffel. When the latter left to join Humpty Bong (with former Bee Gees drummer Colin Petersen), May and Taylor elected to form a new band with vocalist Freddie Mercury (b. Frederick Bulsara, September 5, 1946, Zanzibar, Africa, died November 24, 1991). The name Bulsara was taken from the small Gujarati town in which Bomi Bulsara, Freddie's father, has been place. Freddie's father was an accountant for the British Colonial Office in Zanzibar. In early 1971 bassist John Deacon (born August 19, 1951, Leicester, England) completed the line-up.
Queen were signed at the end of the EMI in 1972 and launched the following spring with a concert at the Marquee London Club. Shortly after the failure of the single "Keep Yourself Alive, they released an eponymous album, which was an interesting fusion 70s glam rock and heavy late 60s.
After spending his formative years in India, Freddie and his family fled to England due to a revolution in Zanzibar. He was 18 when he arrived in England. There, he pursued a degree in graphic art and Design at Ealing Art College, following in the footsteps of Pete Townshend. This knowledge is useful to come when he designed queens famous peak. After a few years, he fell in love with Britain and, therefore, he took the British Citezenship.
Queen started using studio overdubs in a serious way with their second album, Queen II, which features Freddie's music throughout the second LP side (or, in the language CD, tracks 6-11). Many listeners identify "Bohemian Rhapsody" as the pinnacle of his musical art, but it is possible to find the seeds of this mini-opera in his earlier works.
Queen toured extensively and recorded a second album fulfilled their early promise by reaching the Top 5 in the United Kingdom. Soon after, Seven Seas Of Rhye gave them their first single, while Sheer Heart Attack consolidated their commercial position. The title of the album was also the first American group has reached.
The pomp of Queen's recordings and live act have been incorporated in the outrageously camp theatricality of satin covered with mercury, which has been quickly become one of the most notable showmen of rock in the mid 70s was 0.1975 to prove a turning point in the band's career.
After a tour of the Far East, entered the studio with producer Roy Thomas Baker and completed the kitsch epic Bohemian Rhapsody, where mercury was successful ing to transform a single seven-minute mini-opera. The track was both surprising and unique in pop and dominated Christmas sales in the United Kingdom, residing at No. 1 for the acquisition of nine amazing weeks. The power of the single currency has been enhanced by a video production developed very innovative for its time and later, much copied by other acts.
The album, A Night At The Opera, was one of the most expensive and expansive album of its time and made number 1 in the United Kingdom, as well as hitting the U.S. Top 5. Queen were now aspiring to support of the superstar. Their career was thereafter a succession carefully singles market, albums annual performances and extravagant product.
A Day at the Races continued the bombast, while Somebody to Love and catchy anthem We Are The Champions both reached number two in the United Kingdom. Queen singles Release took off with the crazy rockabilly and disco Thing Called Love Another One Bites-influenced The Dust (both by the number of U.S. 1).
Soundtrack Group for the Flash Gordon has been a success, typical of their approach pretentious. At the end of 1981, Queen were back at number 1 in the United Kingdom for the first time since Bohemian Rhapsody Under Pressure with (a collaboration with David Bowie).
After multiple solo projects, the group returned in great shape in 1984 with the satirical Radio Gaga, followed by histrionic I Want To Break Free.
A performance of Live Aid 1985 is displayed in the group of more professional and many famous stars of the day. By coincidence, their next single was a vision, a song in the idealistic spirit of Live Aid. production showed the Queen declined during the late 80's as they focused on projects for the school.
With a wide vocal range and a technique somewhat lyrical, Freddie Mercury is one of the most versatile and technically accomplished singers to work in the pop idiom. He is the composer of Queen's numerous hits including "Bohemian Rhapsody", "Somebody to Love" and "We Are the Champions". Freddie Writing is unique, demonstrating the influence of a variety of sources, but a strong individual sense of melody, harmony and orchestration complex. In several of his tunes most well designed and popular it has provided all the vocal tracks, resulting in a smooth controlled sound that was at the time unprecedented.
The space between the versions do not effect the group's popularity, however, as demonstrated in 1991, when the list of insinuations coming from the United Kingdom, number 1. After the death of Freddie the group re-listened to the album and realized he had open his heart with words and music of implied harmonies and powerful, and his unfailing musicality, which was held jointly with virtuosity biting in May on guitar and the spectacular Freddie Mercury, I think the Queen was and is still the greatest rock act ever seen Finish.
The band's career a game ended by the death of singer Freddie Mercury November 24, 1991. Bohemian Rhapsody was immediately reissued to raise funds for research projects on AIDS, and climbed atop the UK charts.
A commemorative concert for Freddie Mercury held at London Wembley Stadium in the spring of 1992, featuring many stars such as Liza Minnelli, Elton John, Guns N 'Roses, David Bowie, Annie Lennox and George Michael who, in concert tribute hit the notes that normally could not reach Freddie Mercury – well done George.
He has released two solo albums: Mr. Bad Guy (1985) and Barcelona (1988) the latter with Catalan soprano Montserrat Caballé. The collaboration came as a surprise to critics, being the first of its kind, but has nevertheless been widely acclaimed if not commercially successful.
Freddie had a very light tenor voice, he was able to produce sounds very acute, but also sounds very serious. Mercury has an enviable vocal range, with the superb extension of three and a half octaves.
One of his solo hits was a cover of the song "The Great Pretender" (1987), but after his death completed his solo number 1 hit "Living On My Own Remix by No More Brothers, which was his greatest success in the United Kingdom.
Freddie Mercury was bisexual, but he has not officially released until he announced he had AIDS (he took when he lived in New York City), one day before his death. It was cremated at Kensal Green Cemetery wherabouts of the ashes are not known. The remaining members of Queen founded The Mercury Phoenix Trust and organized The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert.
He a fan of Liza Minnelli and Michael Jackson, the latter of which he collaborated with on some tracks that have never been published, including "Shock" which was performed by Michael Jackson and Mick Jagger for the official release. He was well known for his flamboyance and hedonism, but also for his kindness and generosity. He adored cats and kept several, even wrote a song about his favorite ("Delilah", on the album Innuendo, 1991). It was a heavy smoker, which contributed to the roughness of his voice in the eighties.
He was a Zoroastrian. His famous overbite was caused by the presence of four extra teeth which pushed his incisors. He noted early in his career he wanted to perform work on his teeth, but regretted that it had not had time to do so. He also expressed fears that this could damage his voice.
Freddie Mercury appears in the 2002 list of "100 Greatest Britons" (sponsored by the BBC and voted for by the public).
